True System
“Engraved on the sword was the rune for hope, and he wept for it misspelled…”
Summary
Created by the deities to divide their control of the universe, they created a system in which everything could be given an identity. Something that separates it from everything else. The True System is made up of many True Series, which effect the universe in different ways. One of the many True Series is the True Language, which can be found as Sigils or Runes. Runes are a single symbol most commonly found on anything that isn’t alive, like sunshine, clay, and fur. Sigils are combinations of symbols most commonly found on anything that anything that is alive, like plants, animals, and people. Applying, removing, or modifying The True Language on something can have a variety of effects. Runes and sigils are studied and used world wide as they provide many benefits for living. For example, a cook may add a rune with the True Word: Sharp to a magical knife to make it sharper.
Runes
Composed of pure Tol Waves, these can be found at currently the smallest levels of magnification. Patterns that form a symbol, which is believed to represent the concept. Most things are be made up of many different types of runes, but the runes themselves are always separate. A thing’s True Language will be made of many different kinds of runes, with some things having thousands and others having billions.
To add a rune onto something it must be added by a Runesmith or someone well versed in Runemancy. Runes are not only extremely difficult to master, but also can lead to disastrous consequences. Entire cities have been wiped off the map due to incomplete or inefficient runes. The runes themselves are also extremely dangerous, as they can have a variety of effects that are not always guaranteed. For example, adding the rune “shine” to gold found in deserts has different effects then adding the rune “shine” to gold in mountains. One could study runes their entire life and still make a mistake that could end their life or career. Many countries have systems in place to regulate runes to prevent this.

Sigils
Composed of pure Tol Waves, these are composed of symbols, which are believed to represent the living thing. Every living thing has it’s own Sigil and no two Sigils are the same, resulting in an infinite number of sigils. While Sigils cannot be seen by normal means, they can be seen by beings with divine status. Scholars theorize that the Sigil is the stamp of life required to die. They also theorize that the very concept of the sigil inspired Morphics to give themselves their own names.
