Formats

There are many ways to play card games and one of the ways to do it is by playing specific formats. Each format has a list of cards and products you can play with. Some formats even have special rules that you can use to spice up a gameplay session with friends or foes.

  • Isolated

In this format, players build decks only from specific expansions.

  • Chapter

In this format, players may only build decks using cards from a specific Saga or Sagas. Each Saga contains 3 expansions.

This is the main format that will be supported in tournaments.

Saga 1 includes expansion sets 1, 2, 3, the 1st support Booster.

Saga 2 includes expansion sets 4, 5, 6, the 2nd support Booster.

  • Grand

In this format, players may play any card ever released. Players may only use the most recent colors of cards. If a card has been updated from green to blue, only the blue version can be played. Still has a ban list.

  • Eternity

In this format you may play any card ever released, even their previous versions, with no ban list.

  • Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch

In this format, players play against each other in large free-for-all games or even in groups. This is a casual format meant for people who just like to have some fun or see combos that may never see in a competitive environment. Will still receive ban list updates, but are optional.

  • Raid

In this format, players will team up together against powerful foes and their automated decks. These decks play themselves and will put the worthy to the test. The cards used by the powerful bosses within are not tournament legal, but the prize cards are. Prize cards are cards that already exist, but will have the promo treatment.
