World Nest
“I’m going to build a house in this tree and everyone is invited.”
Summary
A world nest is a massive settlement built for flight-capable morphic. While it is mainly avian morphics that inhabit these settlements, all morphics are welcome to live in these areas. Often composed of organic materials, these settlements boast complex architectural structures which allow stability in high altitude or dangerous landscapes. World nests can be found in all types of habitats and climates, each accommodating to their environment.
While world nests can vary drastically in size and design, they all serve the purpose of providing a communal location for potentially millions of individuals. Some countries may only one world nest, where as others have been known to have 20 or more. While world nests politically are treated as part of the country they are located in, they are more akin to a land locked city-state without international borders. The uccello parliament, which establish world nests, have also made it very clear these nests have no military force. There location is decided based on instinct along with a majority vote. The involved country must also approve the establishment of a world nest and a world nest may be abandoned at any time for any reason.
Benefits
World nests are economic miracles to countries that accept them. Not only are the appealing to avian morphics, but are many other morphics as well.
Downsides
When world nests are created, they require innumerable resources for construction.
When a world nest is abandoned, the settlement still remains. Without maintenance these settlements can be catastrophic to nearby populations. Widescale repercussions include, but are not limited to uncontrollable outbreaks, permanent environmental pollution, and severe economic recessions.
