Corethology

“I am what I am, but I am so much more.”

Summary

Beliefs

Corists believe only what they have been taught by familiars over thousands of years. The familiars teach that morphics essentially have inherited the universe and have been passed down to it like father to son or mother to daughter. At some point, unknown to everyone but Shissariss, the Deity of Time, morphics will pass down their existence to whatever is next. Whatever they pass down will be whatever is left, including anything created or destroyed. However, since life is fleeting, each morphic has the curse of deciding their own fate and whether or not to enjoy life or influence it. Thus, morphics are encouraged to do good and strive for excellence to ensure a meaningful legacy to be proud of. To better their fellow morphic and live a life worth living.

Pantheon

All deities have a triality or 3 personas of themselves.

This means that each deity has three separate versions of themselves that influence all realms called personas. All these personas exist at the same time but are also the same deity. Each persona can instantly become any other persona. The best example of this would oil, water, and alcohol in a glass.

These personas are generally considered white, gray, and black. None of them are lesser or greater than the other and they control, protect, and adjust the elements of existence they are assigned to. They also keep each other in balance. It’s taught to kids in the form of rock paper scissors or Beast, Sword, Tree. Tree beats sword, sword beats beast, beast beats tree.

While all personas have their own personalities, they are not evil or good. A persona may perform deeds of great evil one day and deeds of great heroism another day. Their chaotic, but orderly nature means they cannot be influenced by mortals and are as indifferent as the ocean is to a boat.

The deities consistently work with each other, and it is common to find shrines depicting the main deity surrounding by smaller versions of other deities.

Cosmology

Corethology believes that 9 Cups contain the universe and that each cup contains the next cup in one big chain. Anything residing in that cup spills into the next cup or influences its flow. Most only know or care about the first four planes, but some primordials have revealed that others of their kind have tried and failed to breach the 5th plane to become personas. Only one primordial was close enough and that was the Primordial of Despair, Nihilo.
